Meet Paula Dirkes

Throughout her professional career, Paula has worked with people of all ages - but she especially loves older adults. In 1998 she was introduced to improvisational theatre and proceeded to attend 3 years of training at the Second City Comedy Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. She got away from it, then reconnected with improv again through Meetup.com. In 2019 Paula launched Vintage Improvisation Detroit to share ‘smart thinking’ skills and joy with older adults through improvisational theater games. She loves her work and wants to train other improvisers to work with this population wherever they live across the globe. Her first virtual training was held in November, 2021 for improvisers in four countries! She can’t wait to do it again.
